Set to a groovy soundtrack, Hangloose follows the worlds best longboarders all over the Hawaiian island of Oahu. From death defying Pipeline and Haleiwa, to the perfect waves of Makaha, Ala Moana, Waikiki and beyond. Hangloose is an island style surfing experience incorporating traditional longboarding, stand-up paddling, canoe riding, performance longboarding and more.
Director Dave Banquil says of the film, "I have a great appreciation for Hawaii and surfing in general. I've always loved watching surf films, and having the opportunity to make them is an extreme pleasure for me. Living and surfing here in the islands, you constantly see the most amazing things in the water. It's great watching the younger guys (like Ned Snow, Kai Sallas, Kekoa Uemura, etc...) progress and mature with their surfing. They're so talented! Equally impressive are the older guys (Bonga Perkins, Lance Hookano, Rusty Keaulana, etc...) who continue to shine and be great role models for the next generation. Also the diversity of the surf spots here is unreal! From huge barreling waves to small peelers perfect for traditional surfing, and everything in between, Hawaii has it all."
Featuring the surfing of Bonga Perkins, Ned Snow, Kai Sallas, Lance Hookano, Joel Tudor, Duane DeSoto, Dane Peterson, Kekoa Uemura, and tons of others, all set to an incredible soundtrack by Monsieur Leroc, Ras Nick, Boxelder, The Burnin Smyrnans, Shayar and Hawaii's own Tempo Valley. Check out "Hang Loose" brah, you'll be stoked you did. Aloha!
